Recap: Maimonides M-Cats vs. Prospect Hill Academy
After a string of seven wins dating back to last season, the Maimonides M-Cats's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 61-51 to Prospect Hill Academy.
Despite the loss, Maimonides still got an impressive performance from Leah Kaplan, who scored 17 points. Kaplan scored a full 33.3% of Maimonides' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Eden Taieb was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Maimonides' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Prospect Hill Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maimonides will square off against Cristo Rey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prospect Hill Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Neighborhood House Charter at 4:30 p.m. on January 19, 2024.
