Preview: Linden Patriots vs. Greene County Tigers
The Linden Patriots will be home for the holidays to greet the Greene County Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Linden and 12 for Greene County dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Linden took a serious blow against Dallas County, falling 83-39.
Meanwhile, Greene County suffered a tough 43-20 defeat at the hands of Marion on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greene County has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Greene County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lester Scott, who scored four points along with six rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Egan Daley, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Greene County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their eighth loss (out of eight games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Linden's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Greene County, they bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Linden might still be hurting after the 55-29 loss they got from Greene County in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Linden avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
