Baseball Game Preview: Germantown Mavericks vs. Clinton Arrows

The Germantown Mavericks will take on the Clinton Arrows at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Germantown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Germantown fell victim to East Union and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Urchins.

Meanwhile, Clinton was able to grind out a solid win over Grenada on Wednesday, taking the game 7-4.

Phillip Burchfield looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josef Walker, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Crain, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Germantown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Everything went Germantown's way against Clinton in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Germantown made off with a 10-0 win. Will Germantown repeat their success, or does Clinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
