Baseball Recap: Eastwood Christian's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Eastwood Christian won against Evangel Christian Academy last Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Eastwood Christian blew past the Victory Christian Academy Eagles 14-4. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.

Crayton Crew was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Crew was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Owen Strickland was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Cole Dozier was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Eastwood Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Victory Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastwood Christian will face off against Evangel Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evangel Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.2 runs per game on average), something Eastwood Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
