Soccer Game Preview: Wando vs. Clover

The Wando Warriors will square off against the Clover Eagles on Saturday. Wando will be looking to extend their current 23-game winning streak.

Wando is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let West Ashley get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Considering Wando have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit West Ashley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mohammad Alahmad, Liam Beasley, and Pierce Robertson.

Meanwhile, Clover faced Mauldin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles beat the Mavericks by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory continues a trend for Clover in their matchups with Mauldin: they've now won four in a row.

Wando's win bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Clover, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.

Wando couldn't quite get it done against Clover when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as they fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
