Basketball Recap: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Newkirk Tigers
The Pawhuska Huskies won the last time they faced the Newkirk Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Pawhuska walked away with a 43-33 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pawhuska.
Trenton Miles was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Canyon Hindman, who scored five points along with two steals.
The victory got Pawhuska back to even at 10-10. As for Newkirk, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
Pawhuska will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oklahoma (Woodland is ranked 263rd, while the Huskies are ranked 267th). As for Newkirk, they will head out on the road to square off against the Goldbugs at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
