Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Higley's Third in Last Four Outings

Higley lost to Williams Field on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Knights came out on top against the Black Hawks by a score of 10-7.

Skylar Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Samantha Parisi was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Kosmicki, who earned three runs and one stolen base.

Higley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Higley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-19-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Williams Field, they dropped their record down to 9-15-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

As of now, neither Higley nor the Black Hawks have any future games scheduled.
