Baseball Recap: Brush Comes Up Short

Brush was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hawken Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Arcs of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Jelani Carr made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Brush's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hawken, the victory (which was their eighth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Brush will head out on the road to challenge Benedictine at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hawken, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chagrin Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
