Basketball Recap: Lake Mary Comes Up Short

If Lake Mary was riding high fresh off their 61-25 takedown of University on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lake Mary Rams fell 47-39 to the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Tuesday. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Silverhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Lake Howell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mazaiah Marc, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Caldwell, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Lake Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Lake Howell, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lake Mary has already played their next game, a 49-48 win against Lake Wales on the 25th. As for Lake Howell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-60 loss against Seminole on the 23rd.
