Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for San Dieguito Academy

While San Dieguito Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Classical Academy Caimans by a score of 12-9 on Monday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Caimans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Emi Adams, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Willow Wright, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

San Dieguito Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Classical Academy only posted an OBP of .333.

San Dieguito Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing nine strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.86 in the others. As for Classical Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Dieguito Academy will host Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Dieguito Academy is facing Valley Center at the right time seeing as Valley Center is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Classical Academy, they will welcome St. Joseph Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something Classical Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
