Softball Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Orangefield Bobcats

Warren is 0-4 against Orangefield since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Warren Warriors will welcome the Orangefield Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Warren has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Warren is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 22-0 to Kirbyville.

Meanwhile, Orangefield came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Lions.

Orangefield pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Warren, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Warren might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Orangefield in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Warren avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
