Softball Recap: Kofa Has No Trouble Against San Luis

While Kofa put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for San Luis. The Kings blew past the Sidewinders 13-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-3 last Tuesday.

Charlize Anaya was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Anaya was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kofa got a massive performance out of Hailey Alvarez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kiya Sayre, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Kofa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Kofa and bumps their season record up to 5-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for San Luis, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kofa will head out to take on Tolleson at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Luis, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gila Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on the 21st.
