Volleyball Recap: Thayer Comes Up Short

Thayer lost against Couch back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-2. The Bobcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Thayer took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 25-27, 25-22, 15-9.

Loss or not, Thayer got some senior leadership from Crystal Edwards and Madelynn Rhoades. Edwards had 29 digs and two blocks, while Rhoades had 29 digs. Those 29 digs set a new season-high mark for Edwards. Brette Tharp also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Thayer's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Couch, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-9-1.

Thayer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Doniphan on the 13th. As for Couch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Dora on the 13th.
