Basketball Recap: Landon Stancil's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Strong Rock Christian over Westfield School

Strong Rock Christian was the 58-36 winner over Westfield School when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Strong Rock Christian Patriots fell to the Westfield School Hornets 44-38. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Strong Rock Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Stancil, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Blake Burghardt, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Strong Rock Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Westfield School, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-9.

Strong Rock Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brookstone at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. Strong Rock Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. Westfield School has already played their next game, a 63-49 loss against Deerfield-Windsor on the 25th.
