Preview: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Benson Bunnies
Elkhorn South and Benson are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Elkhorn South Storm will be playing at home against the Benson Bunnies on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Elkhorn South was beaten by Elkhorn North 71-34. Elkhorn South was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.
Meanwhile, Benson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Northeast. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), Benson still had to take the loss.
Elkhorn South dropped their record down to 9-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Benson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Elkhorn South lost to Benson at home by a decisive 57-41 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Elkhorn South, Zakiyyah Muhammad (who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and six blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
