Softball Recap: Crete-Monee Comes Up Short

Crete-Monee lost against Bloom last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors came up short against the Blazing Trojan, falling 17-10. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Taleeana Ramirez and Ariana Kovacs stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ramirez scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Kovacs went 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lauren Thunherst also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Crete-Monee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bloom, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

While Crete-Monee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
