Basketball Recap: Evansville North Comes Up Short

Evansville North lost against Castle back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Evansville North Huskies fell 51-39 to the Castle Knights. The matchup marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Evansville North lost, don't look at Bryson Chapman. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Pieterek, who posted nine points.

Castle's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady P Reiter, who put up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Xander Niehaus, who scored 12 points and four steals.

Evansville North's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Castle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Evansville North has already played their next matchup, a 57-53 win against Bedford North Lawrence on the 22nd. As for Castle, they are taking a road trip to take on Vincennes Lincoln at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
