Softball Game Preview: Warren Central Vikings vs. Neshoba Central Rockets

The Warren Central Vikings will head out to take on the Neshoba Central Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

On Friday, Warren Central got the win against Columbus by a conclusive 19-4. Considering the Vikings have won four matchups by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Pant was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Whitley Parks and Anzley Keen did most of the damage at the plate: Parks went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs, while Keen scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave Parks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennadi Willaims, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Warren Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Neshoba Central came up short against Petal on Friday and fell 6-2.

Warren Central's record now sits at 6-7. As for Neshoba Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
