Basketball Recap: Murray Comes Up Short

After flying high against Diagonal last Monday, Murray came back down to earth. The Mustangs were beaten by the Mount Ayr Raiders 69-24 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost nine in a row.

Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Mount Ayr, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Coming up, Murray will face off against Moulton-Udell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.68 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mount Ayr, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Central Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
