Volleyball Recap: Guilderland's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Guilderland won the last time they faced Mekeel Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Flying Dutchmen walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lions. The victory was some much needed relief for the Flying Dutchmen as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Mekeel Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikal Towers, who had five kills, two blocks, and two aces. Towers is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bria Salvo, who had ten assists and two aces.

Guilderland's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Coming up, Guilderland is taking a road trip to challenge Averill Park at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mechanicville on the 27th.
