Basketball Recap: Quitman County Takes a Loss

Quitman County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 58-37 to the Pelham Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Quitman County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-43 back in November of 2024.

Micheal Battle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pelham, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Battle is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dorian Williams, who posted 11 points.

Quitman County's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Pelham, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Miller County the next time they take the court. Quitman County will host Miller County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Pelham will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
