Basketball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Eaton Reds

Valley hasn't had much luck against Eaton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Valley Vikings will square off against the Eaton Reds at 6:00 p.m. Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Valley strolled past Fort Morgan with points to spare, taking the game 34-20.

Meanwhile, Eaton got the win against Weld Central on Friday by a conclusive 55-31. The Reds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Eaton found their leader in sophomore Delaney Reuter, who posted 26 points. Those 26 points gave Reuter a new career-high. Courtney Steinkamp was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Eaton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Valley, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Valley lost to Eaton on the road by a decisive 63-44 margin when the teams last played two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Steinkamp, who went 11-for-21 on her way to 33 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
