Basketball Game Preview: Empire Ravens vs. Morenci Wildcats

The Empire Ravens will head out to challenge the Morenci Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Empire challenged The Gregory School on Tuesday. The Ravens took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The loss put an end to the Ravens' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Morenci unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 69-58 to Fort Thomas last Tuesday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Empire fell to 2-1. As for Morenci, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Empire took a serious blow against Morenci when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 75-43. Can the Ravens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
