Volleyball Recap: Ralston Valley Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cherokee Trail

Ralston Valley extended their postseason success on Friday against Cherokee Trail. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Cougars back in August, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Ralston Valley was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 25-13.

Rylee Sonnenfeld paced Ralston Valley's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sonnenfeld got some help from Taylor Harteker and her 23 assists. Sonnenfeld was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Ralston Valley's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4. As for Cherokee Trail, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

Ralston Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Dakota Ridge on the 11th. Cherokee Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
