Soccer Game Preview: Bruton vs. Southampton

The Bruton Panthers will challenge the Southampton Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Bruton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Nandua, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Warriors two weeks ago. Considering Bruton have won three matchups by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Nandua with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brody McHenry (2), Tim Walson (2), and Kai Gardin.

Meanwhile, Southampton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for Southampton as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Southampton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four contests. As for Bruton, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
