Basketball Recap: Santee Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Santee can now relate to. They came up short against East Valley on Saturday, falling 66-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Santee has suffered since January 24th.

Lukas Carone had an outrageously good game for East Valley as he dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. Carone has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Shamel Hobson, who made all 5 shots he took for 12 points and three blocks.

Santee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for East Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Santee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Valley, they will face off against Orthopaedic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Orthopaedic likes a good challenge.
