Baseball Game Preview: Lamar Christian Lions vs. Hattiesburg HomeSchool Forerunners

The Lamar Christian Lions will take on the Hattiesburg HomeSchool Forerunners at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hattiesburg HomeSchool took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lamar Christian, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Lamar Christian sidestepped Newton County Academy for a 6-5 victory.

Brady Richardson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Blade Davenport was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dallas Parker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hattiesburg HomeSchool came up short against Meridian HomeSchool on Friday, falling 9-2. The Forerunners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hattiesburg HomeSchool saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mack Hutson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lamar Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hattiesburg HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Lamar Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Hattiesburg HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in March, winning 8-5. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Forerunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
