Murrieta Mesa put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fontana Steelers a 7-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tanner Blackmon was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Blackmon was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Janczyk, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brett Rawls, who scored a run and stole a base.

Murrieta Mesa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Murrieta Mesa's record is now 3-0. As for Fontana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Murrieta Mesa will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Heritage at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fontana, they will head out on the road to face off against Ontario at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
