Recap: Union Colony Prep Timberwolves vs. Loveland Classical Lions
The Union Colony Prep Timberwolves were the 26-24 winner over the Loveland Classical Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Union Colony Prep's rough 60-39 defeat to Loveland Classical on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Union Colony Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Union Colony Prep had strong showings from Soliana Gebremskel, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Madison Walter, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Walter scored a full 43.6% of Union Colony Prep's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Union Colony Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Loveland Classical, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Colony Prep will face off against Frontier Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loveland Classical, they will head out on the road to face off against Dawson School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
