Prestonwood Christian and Liberty Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Lions will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Prestonwood Christian's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave last Friday, when they got past St. Thomas Catholic's usually-dominant defense. The Lions really took it to the Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-17 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 21-point advantage.

It was another big night for William Taylor, who rushed for 185 yards and three TDs. Prestonwood Christian also got a significant boost from Braden Bixler, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Prestonwood Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. They are 4-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Liberty Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand St. Pius X a 63-0 shutout on Friday. That looming 63-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.
Prestonwood Christian better focus on containing Correll Buckhalter and Quinn Murphy as the pair were huge in Liberty Christian's win. Buckhalter rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Murphy threw for 207 yards and four TDs. Liberty Christian is 7-1 when Buckhalter posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Liberty Christian's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 55.0 points this season. As for Prestonwood Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Luke Glass and Murphy. Glass just won't slow down this season and has thrown 27 touchdowns while averaging 272.2 passing yards per game. Murphy has been a dominant force too and has thrown 36 touchdowns while averaging 249.8 passing yards per game.
Prestonwood Christian ended up a good deal behind Liberty Christian in their previous matchup back in October, losing 38-24. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
