Volleyball Game Preview: Mounds Park Academy Panthers vs. Woodbury Royals

The Mounds Park Academy Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Woodbury Royals at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mounds Park Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Mounds Park Academy managed to slip by Liberty Classical Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against Liberty Classical Academy on Thursday, falling 3-0.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Woodbury and Mounds View meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Royals won by a set and slipped past the Mustangs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Royals have posted since September 20th.

Mounds Park Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Woodbury, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 8-14-1 record.

Mounds Park Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodbury when the teams last played back in October of 2023, winning 2-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
