Basketball Recap: Burke Takes a Loss

Burke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Andes Central/Dakota Christian, falling 67-37. The Cougars were down 51-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Burke's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Quinten Bull, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds, and Brody Indahl, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and five steals. Bull is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Tate Elk Solider was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points along with five boards and three steals for Andes Central/Dakota Christian. Another player making a difference was AJ Johnson, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Burke's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Burke has already played their next matchup, a 64-34 defeat against Centerville on the 10th. As for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-46 loss against Tripp-Delmont/Armour on the 14th.
