Softball Recap: Navajo Prep Triumphs

While Navajo Prep's victory against Wingate wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-16 win over the Bears on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Miley Barber was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Yazzie, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Navajo Prep pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Wingate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Navajo Prep beat the Bears by a score of 28-3 later that day.
