Softball Recap: Cascade Extends Winning Streak to Five

Cascade entered their tilt with North Montgomery on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Chargin' Chargers with a sharp 11-3 win. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Grace Parks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lacie Godby was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last nine matchups. Suzy Moore was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Cascade was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Montgomery only posted a batting average of .172.

Cascade's victory bumped their record up to 21-2. As for North Montgomery, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade will square off against Monrovia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Montgomery, they will face off against North Putnam at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
