Basketball Recap: Langston Hughes Panthers vs. Hardaway Hawks        
        
		
             Langston Hughes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Saturday. They breezed by the Hardaway Hawks to the tune of  81-47. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played  back in November of 2020.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Langston Hughes to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Cornelia Ellington, who  went 9 for 13 en route to 27 points plus two  steals. Ellington is  on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games she's  played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was  Savannah Robinson-Holmes, who  went 9 for 14 en route to 26 points plus three  steals.
 Langston Hughes was working as a unit and  finished the game with 14  assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hardaway only posted seven.
 Despite the  loss, Hardaway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Rhianna Boynton  dropped  a double-double on 16 points and 11  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Adazha Burrell, who  scored 15 points along with two  steals.
 Langston Hughes has already played their next game,  a  62-55  win against Holy Innocents Episcopal on the 16th. As for Hardaway, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  56-48  defeat against North Paulding on the 16th.
