Softball Recap: Dwight Morrow Takes a Loss

Dwight Morrow extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They came up short against the Ridgefield Park Scarlets, falling 18-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scarlets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 back in April.

As for Ridgefield Park, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For Ridgefield Park's part, Gabriella Rivera was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Rivera has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kaylene Romero, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Coming up, Dwight Morrow will host Bergenfield at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Ridgefield Park, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ramsey on Saturday.
