Basketball Recap: Anderson Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Anderson extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Damien King. The Anderson Indians strolled past the Pendleton Heights Arabians with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 70-52 thanks in part to King, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Another player making a difference was Colin Lewis, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played.

Pendleton Heights' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Mozingo, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Sims, who put up 16 points.

Anderson's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Pendleton Heights, they moved to 4-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Anderson and Pendleton Heights should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Anderson (ranked 32nd) will meet Liberty Christian (ranked 215th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Pendleton Heights (ranked 123rd) will meet Frankton (ranked 265th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
