Softball Game Preview: Benjamin Logan Raiders vs. Bellefontaine Chieftains

The Benjamin Logan Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Bellefontaine Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bellefontaine will be up against a hot Benjamin Logan squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Raiders beat London on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-3.

Meanwhile, Bellefontaine hadn't done well against Shawnee recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Indians. The Chieftains' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Chole Himinger, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That run marked the first that she scored this season.

Himinger wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bellefontaine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawnee only managed four hits.

Benjamin Logan's record is now 3-0. As for Bellefontaine, their record now sits at 2-3.

Benjamin Logan came up short against Bellefontaine in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, falling 6-3. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
