Basketball Recap: Montverde Academy Beats St. Thomas Aquinas for Their Ninth Straight Win

Montverde Academy had won eight straight games dating back to last season and Saniyah Hall did her part to make it nine on Saturday. The Montverde Academy Eagles breezed by the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders to the tune of 78-38 thanks in part to Hall, who posted 23 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The contest was her sixth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Breen, who put up eight points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

St. Thomas Aquinas lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being London Thomas, who had 12 points. Another player making a difference was Nyla Mcfadden, who posted 11 points.

Montverde Academy's record now sits at 6-0. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Montverde Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Nova at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. St. Thomas Aquinas and Grandview Prep will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
