Calallen has gone a perfect 9-0 against Robstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Calallen Wildcats will take on the Robstown Cottonpickers at 7:00 p.m. Calallen is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Calallen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Zapata a 17-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Jordyn Thibodeaux made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles.

Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Robstown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against Zapata on Wednesday as Robstown made off with a 15-5 victory.
Like Calallen, Robstown also got a great game from a two-way player: Karina Trevino. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Trevino didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Robstown got a massive performance out of Ariel Flores, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Olivia Morales, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Calallen's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Robstown, their record is now 11-5.
Robstown's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Calallen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Robstown, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Calallen keep running through batters, or will Robstown buck the trend?
Calallen took their victory against Robstown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calallen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
