Mid-Carolina came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Ninety Six, but Jamarious Dunlap wouldn't allow it. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Wildcats made off with a 62-61 win over the Rebels with plenty of help from Dunlap, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. He also grabbed three steals, which is notable because Ninety Six is undefeated when he posts at least three steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Carver Davis, who posted eight points along with five boards and three steals. He has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season.

Despite the defeat, Mid-Carolina saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Treyvon Smith dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Smith also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 50%. Jaquon McKinney was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Ninety Six's record now sits at 4-2. As for Mid-Carolina, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Ninety Six has already played their next game, a 62-57 victory against Emerald on the 17th. As for Mid-Carolina, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-53 win against Wagener-Salley on the 17th.
