Basketball Recap: Nicholas Burger's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lebanon over First Baptist Academy

Lebanon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of First Baptist Academy. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against First Baptist Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-39 back in December of 2024.

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nicholas Burger, who posted 13 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Burger a new career-high in boards. Deion Washington was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for First Baptist Academy, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-14.

Looking ahead, Lebanon and Valmeyer will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for First Baptist Academy, they will square off against Maryville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
