Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Kingston

Kingston entered their tilt with Pine Bush on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bushmen by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on Monday.

Kingston got a great performance from Jack Purvis as he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Purvis a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Landon Vangaasbeck was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Culjak, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Kingston's record is now 5-2. As for Pine Bush, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Kingston will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bushmen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
