Baseball Recap: Vineland Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Vineland's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Egg Harbor Township Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in April.

Seth Suppi looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kyle Lamanteer was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ernie Bernhardt, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Vineland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Egg Harbor Township only posted an OBP of .387.

Vineland has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Egg Harbor Township, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Vineland nor Egg Harbor Township have any future games scheduled.
