Basketball Recap: Firebaugh Takes a Loss

Firebaugh lost to Coalinga on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the Horned Toads. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1087th, while the Horned Toads are ranked 421st).

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Coalinga, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Firebaugh and Mendota will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Coalinga, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kings Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
