Baseball Recap: Estero Takes a Loss

Estero fell victim to Mariner and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mariner Tritons by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tritons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Estero saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Estero's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Mariner, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Estero and Mariner should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Estero (ranked 125th) will meet Ida Baker (ranked 282nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mariner will challenge LaBelle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 256 places (88 vs. 344).
