Volleyball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Westminster Christian Academy came into Thursday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Ardmore Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Tigers on their court since September 19, 2022.

Westminster Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-30, 25-17, 25-21, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Jane Forgey, who had 14 digs and one assist. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high. Emme Roderick also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Westminster Christian Academy's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Ardmore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

As for Ardmore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Lauderdale County on the 13th.
