Football Recap: Mesa Verde Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mesa Verde played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 40-14 to the Ripon Christian Knights. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while the Knights are ranked 272nd).

Despite the loss, Mesa Verde still got an impressive performance from Cesar Granados, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown.

Amos Cady had a dynamite game For Ripon Christian., picking up 26 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 55 yards on only six carries. What's more, Cady posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Mason Tameling was another key player, throwing for 94 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Mesa Verde now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Ripon Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Mesa Verde wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-12 win against Highlands on the 19th. As for Ripon Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 35-21 loss against Hilmar on the 19th.
