The Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Monson Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pioneer Valley Regional is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Pioneer Valley Regional's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Turners Falls as they made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex McClelland and Jackson Glazier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McClelland didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Glazier tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, McClelland got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Glazier went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. McClelland is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
In other batting news, Pioneer Valley Regional got a massive performance out of Evan Tsipenyuk, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Tsipenyuk has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethan Mauthe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Pioneer Valley Regional hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turners Falls struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Monson was able to grind out a solid victory over Granby on Thursday, taking the game 7-4. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.
Pioneer Valley Regional's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Monson, their record now sits at 5-6.
Pioneer Valley Regional took their victory against Monson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-5 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
