Recap: Muchin College Prep Mountain Lions vs. Kennedy Crusaders
The Muchin College Prep Mountain Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The contest between Muchin College Prep and Kennedy wasn't particularly close, with Muchin College Prep falling 57-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Muchin College Prep in their matchups with Kennedy: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Muchin College Prep still got an impressive performance from Jalen McIntyre, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 40% of Muchin College Prep's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Richard Blancas was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kennedy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Gallas, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Dahl, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Muchin College Prep has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Kennedy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-11.
Muchin College Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Noble Street College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Noble Street College Prep is ranked 692nd, while Muchin College Prep is ranked 702nd). As for Kennedy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunbar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
